Investing Demystified — Lars Kroijer (Video 1/5)

Posted by Robin Powell on September 27, 2016

Some of the most passionate advocates of passive investing, in my experience, are are former fund managers who have seen for themselves how active management works (or in most cases doesn’t).

One such person is the former hedge fund manager Lars Kroijer. Born in Denmark and educated at Harvard, Lars has spent most of his working life in London. He’s written three books based on his personal experience of the investing industry, including one — Investing Demystified — which in my view is one of the best introductions to the subject for those who are new to it.

Over a course of five videos, Lars is going to explain how investing really works; how although skill does exist in the fund management industry, your chances of consistently identifying in advance the very few funds that beat the market over the long term are virtually non-existent, especially after fees and and expenses.

I hope you’ll enjoy and share these videos, and if you want to learn more, or to buy one of Lars’ books, simply visit kroijer.com.
