The series is named after a quote from the famous investor Benjamin Graham, who wrote “The investor’s chief problem – and even his worst enemy – is likely to be himself” due to the behavioural biases which so often prevent investors from maximising their returns.
Well, now that series has arrived as a full-length mini documentary. It’s a must watch for investors – our behaviour is one of the most interesting areas of investing to learn about, as well as perhaps being the most important.
In the series we talk about five of the most important biases to be aware of, but unfortunately that’s the tip of the iceberg – there are many more behavioural pitfalls out there. It only serves to highlight the advantages of having a trusted, independent person to talk to about your financial decisions, ideally a financial adviser with an evidence-based approach.
